PERFORMERS
Dongju Kim, Clarinet
Dongju Kim has built a multifaceted career as a clarinetist,
choir conductor, and teacher, bringing a thoughtful musical voice to both performance and education. He received his bachelor's degree from Chungnam National University and completed his master's degree and performer's diploma at Indiana University. He also pursued doctoral studies at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.
His performance career has included appearances with Chungnam National University Wind Ensemble, Chungnam National University Orchestra, Amitie Clarinet Ensemble, and other ensembles, and he was recognized as a prizewinner in the ensemble division of the Korea Clarinet Association Competition. He currently serves as choir conductor at Atlanta New Church and as principal player of the Lawrenceville Symphony Orchestra. Beyond the stage, he is passionate about mentoring young musicians through his work at Vncla Music Studio, where he encourages students to develop both artistic discipline and a genuine love for music.
Haejin Yoo, Violin
With a style marked by poise, warmth, and expressive nuance, violinist Haejin Yoo maintains an active career as a performer and educator in the Atlanta area. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Mokwon University, pursued additional musical studies in Germany, and later earned an Artist Diploma in Violin and Chamber Music from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Her professional experience includes serving as assistant concertmaster of Zachow Consort and Players and performing with the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra. She currently performs with the Georgia Symphony Orchestra, Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra, Atlanta Opera, and other ensembles throughout the region. Yoo also serves as an adjudicator for Georgia All-State Orchestra auditions and teaches at VnCla Music Studio, where her students have been selected for Georgia All-State Orchestra, Atlanta Youth Symphony Orchestra, Emory Youth Symphony Orchestra, and the Georgia Governor’s Honors Program, including concertmaster and principal positions.
For Yoo, music is both an artistic calling and a gift, and she finds great joy in sharing its beauty and meaning with others.
Jared Cooper, Cello
Jared Cooper, cellist, began his musical studies at the age of six on piano and began studying cello at age eleven. At the age of fifteen, he began studying with Phil Ince of the Tulsa Symphony. As an orchestral musician, he has held positions with orchestras such as the Palm Beach Symphony and the Florida Grand Opera, to name a few. As a chamber musician, he is highly sought after for chamber recitals. Mr. Cooper has served on faculty for the Porterville Strings Program, and other summer programs such as the Nat King Cole Summer Strings Program and the Philadelphia International Music Festival.
Mr. Cooper received his bachelor of music degree at Texas Tech University under the tutelage of Jeffrey Lastrapes and received his master of music degree at Lynn University studying with David Cole.
He currently freelances in the Atlanta Metro area. When Jared isn’t making music he educates families about the intricate details of retirement planning.
Song Lee, Choir Conductor
Song Lee is a choral and orchestral conductor with extensive experience in church music, community ensembles, and concert performance. He studied Vocal Performance at the College of Music, Hanyang University in Seoul, Korea, and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Vocal Performance from Shorter University. He pursued graduate studies in Choral Conducting at the Boston Conservatory and later earned a Master’s Degree in Choral Conducting from Louisiana State University, where he also continued his doctoral studies.
Lee served as Conductor of the Atlanta Korean Master Chorale (2003–2007), Atlanta Chamber Singers (2010–2014), and HOPE Johns Creek Orchestra (2010–2018). He currently conducts the Gideon Choir at Yunhap Presbyterian Church, Elohim Choir, Atlanta Christian Men’s Choir, and Joyful Sounds Youth Ensemble.
With a foundation in vocal performance and advanced training in choral conducting, Lee brings the perspectives of both singer and conductor to his musical leadership. He is committed to expressive singing, musical integrity, and ensemble unity, seeking to create performances that communicate the beauty, meaning, and spirit of music while inspiring performers and audiences alike.
Jia Lee, Piano
Young Yoo, Piano
Young Yoo has been primarily active as a soloist, chamber musician and teacher. She has given concerts throughout the United States and South Korea. She performed at Jordan Hall with Youth Philharmonic Orchestra of New England Conservatory and has given concerts at Gardner Museum in Boston, Paul Hall in NY, Zipper Hall in CA as well as Seoul Performing Arts Center and Kumho Arts Center in South Korea. Her many awards and honors include second prize in the Grace Welsh International Piano Competition, First prize in the Harvard Musical Association Competition, Orleans 20th century International Piano Competition in France and many other competitions throughout the United States and South Korea.
Yoo received her Bachelor's and Master's degree at the Juilliard School as a student of Yoheved Kaplinsky. She received the Joseph Fidelman Scholarship and Vladimir Horowitz Scholarship while she was in the Juilliard School.
In addition to performing, she has been an active teacher for more than 20 years in Los Angeles, and the South Bay area.
She is currently working as a private music coordinator and private piano teacher at Wesleyan School in Peachtree Corners, GA and also teaches privately in her own studio.
She is a founding member and artistic director of Confido Music Society and music director at CCM (Creative Christian Media) in Atlanta.
Elohim Choir
Founded in 2015, Elohim (אֱלֹהִים) Choir is a mixed-voice ensemble dedicated to praising God and serving the Church through music. The name Elohim (אֱלֹהִים), a Hebrew name for God, reflects the choir’s calling to glorify the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit through heartfelt worship and musical excellence.
Elohim Choir began with eight couples, serving primarily through offertory and special music at Korean Community Presbyterian Church. The choir later expanded its ministry through concerts and performances beyond its home church.
Today, Elohim Choir brings together singers from churches throughout the Atlanta area and is active in worship, concerts, and community outreach. Recent appearances include the Southeast Korean Sports Festival, Atlanta Christian Men’s Choir Annual Concert, K-Classic Concert, NPC Conference, and regional Sacred Choral Festivals. The choir has also collaborated with The Soop Orchestra and the New Philharmonic Orchestra, including a May 2026 performance of Mozart’s Requiem. More recently, the choir participated in a benefit concert supporting Korea Food for the Hungry International.
More than a performing ensemble, Elohim Choir seeks to be a community of faith united in worship, glorifying God, proclaiming the Gospel, and sharing His love through music.
